Their 11+ Results came in a big burst of emails and texts- I am always caught out by the dates each year when the results are released... ..the score set for LSS for entry was 210 waiting list place 208. The following children got in with really safe results and also one of them had a very high score!
Congratulations to Tristan ( Tristan came in the top 3% of results for boys!) Nathan, Theo, Oscar, Anand, all offered places at Lawrence Sheriff; Rehan through to Ashlawn is on the waiting list for LSS, A** has a Princethorpe place. Artjoms, got a high enough score for LSS but is going to Ashlawn as his preference.
One other pupil got a high score with the internal Ashlawn exam so may well get in to the grammar stream there too.
Rugby High School welcomes 4 of my pupils: Grace, Ana Juveria and one more.
13/15 of my pupils got the school places they wanted and worked hard to achieve.
My Year 5 consisted of very mixed ability pupils last year. I DON’T JUST TAKE TOP LEVEL ACADEMICS, but ANY child who will work hard and is average in either maths or literacy. This means, every year I have to work very hard with basics with some children- so from the goal is from “A to Z” in one year!
Two of the children who passed to LSS, had not had a teacher at their school all year, and no continuity the previous year either. They did work hard!
I am happy with this year’s 88% success rate for a mixed ability group of pupils. Some at the very top, others working hard and raising levels though the year, to finally get a successful result.
It depends on the point where the child starts as to whether they can reach their zenith at the end of the year.
Those 4 children who did not pass to LSS, or Ashlawn (though two are on the waiting list respectively) raised their academic levels considerably over the tuition year. This means they will go to to Year 6 in a much more comfortable academic position.
I have been told by two of the parents their children did not quite get a clear pass, but they have fantastic SAT scores predicted. - maybe no LSS or Ashlawn but a great future on the cards all the same- they will be at the top of the year in the schools they attend in 2019 for sure.
Results for the 2017 Exam!

Notes from Parents: re 2017 Exam
Hi Jacqueline,
Thanks for the email and update. Good to see lots of the group were successful in the exams and have been allocated their no.1 schools.
Elena scored 251 for the 11+ and has indeed been offered a place at RHS.However, based on how well she did, we also entered her for the entrance exam at Rugby School.
The assessment was at the start of February (William was also there !) and she has now been offered a deferred place for 2020 for Yr 9. In the meantime, she will be continuing at Bilton Grange Prep School for yr8 & 9 as they are expecting her to be an Academic Scholarship candidate.
We have not finalised all the arrangements quite yet, so are still holding the RHS space.....
....Still a little bit of a whirlwind re everything. She did so well and we are very proud of how hard she worked throughout yr 5 & 6. Bilton Grange / Rugby School
offer her lots of extra opportunities - in particular sport - that would not have been as readily available via the grammar school.
We did not go into this process with anything other than RHS in mind. So it's a credit for her (and the study group) that she has achieved so much, particularly taking into account the school move midway through Hope your new groups are going well,
Regards, Lynne

Linda October 2017 Hi Jacqueline,
I am very pleased to say T has a place at RHS. She scored 212 in the exam, which considering the messing about with different exam dates, going on an exhausting school holiday the week before and then the team not actually expecting her on the exam date given, we are super pleased with.
Thank you very much for all your help! Kind re gards,
Katie March 2018
Hi Jaqueline,
Lara’s total score was 224 (standardised scores: VR 118.58 out of 150; Num 109.44 out of 137; non-verb. 101.66 out of 148).
So she has been offered a place in RHS, which we have of course accepted. We are all very happy. Thank you so much for all your help! ?

Dear Jacqueline,
William received an offer for Lawrence sheriff yesterday. He also had double scholarships ( academic and music) from Princethorpe and a continuation award from Rugby School which means they offered William to go to Bilton Grange for two years before enter year 9 at Rugby School.
We haven't decided yet which school we will go for.. Many thanks for all your efforts, we are very appreciated. All the best
Summer March 2018
Just to let you know that Emily got into Ashlawn & a waiting list place to RHS, which we would have been very happy with, but she got her scholarship place at Princethorpe and where she is going as you know.
You are right about the learning curve, Emily is still acing all their SATs prep and this year often comes top of the class in her scores, not that it matters hugely but lovely for her.
Best Regards, Tanya. March 2018
